What it is
Zeroid is a Korean dermocosmetic brand often recommended for very dry and eczema-prone skin, and the Intensive Cream is its core moisturiser. It’s a rich cream in an 80ml tube for face and body. The Olive Young set we checked added a 50ml tube and a character pouch from a limited collaboration.
The Korean ingredient list starts with water, propanediol, caprylic/capric triglyceride, glycerin and plant squalane, then emulsifiers and dimethicone. The key barrier ingredient is myristoyl/palmitoyl oxostearamide/arachamide MEA, a pseudo-ceramide. It also has phytosterols, tocopheryl acetate, canola oil, olive oil, bisabolol and sodium hyaluronate. No fragrance is listed.
Who it suits (and who should skip it)
Good pick if
- Your skin is very dry, flaky or prone to eczema patches
- You want one fragrance-free cream for face and body
- You live somewhere cold or dry, or your skin suffers in winter
Skip it if
- Your skin is oily or acne-prone; it may feel too heavy
- You want a light gel cream for summer
- You prefer a cream with active ingredients like retinol or acids
What the ingredients do
The pseudo-ceramide is designed to behave like the ceramides in your skin’s barrier, filling gaps between skin cells so less water escapes. Phytosterols play a similar supporting role.
Caprylic/capric triglyceride, squalane and the plant oils are emollients: they soften rough patches and form a light protective layer. Glycerin, propanediol and sodium hyaluronate pull water into the skin underneath that layer. Bisabolol is a gentle calming ingredient.
How to use it
Zeroid’s directions: apply a suitable amount several times a day to the face, arms, legs or any area that needs it.
On very dry skin, apply it to slightly damp skin after showering or cleansing, and reapply to dry patches during the day.
How it compares
Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream is a lighter, more cosmetic-feeling barrier cream that suits more skin types. Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream is the budget option in a big tube. Zeroid is the richest of the three, for skin that needs the most help.
Is it worth buying in Seoul?
Only slightly, on price alone. For the 80ml cream, Seoul was just a few percent cheaper than Amazon US in our latest check. The extra 50ml tube in the Olive Young set is where the real value is. It clears the ₩15,000 tax refund minimum, but the 80ml tube plus bonus needs to go in your checked suitcase.
FAQ
