Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer

What it is
Cream Skin is Laneige’s take on the Korean “cream toner”: a liquid that looks milky and feels like a moisturiser thinned out to toner consistency. It comes in a 170ml bottle and is one of Olive Young’s top-selling hydration products.
The Korean ingredient list starts with water and humectants, then meadowfoam seed oil, isopentyldiol and squalane, the emollients behind the creamy feel. Gentle emulsifiers hold it together. Further down are white tremella mushroom extract, hyaluronic acid, green tea, ceramide NP, camellia flower extract and acetyl tetrapeptide-11, a peptide. No fragrance is listed.
Who it suits (and who should skip it)
Good pick if
- Your skin feels tight after cleansing and watery toners aren’t enough
- You want a minimal routine, with one step doing the work of toner and light moisturiser
- You have sensitive skin and want a gentle, acid-free toner
Skip it if
- Your skin is very oily and dislikes any emollient in the toner step
- You want a toner with active ingredients for acne or dark spots
- You’re on a tight budget; simpler toners do the hydration part for less
What the ingredients do
The idea is to deliver hydration and a little oil at the same time. The humectants pull water into the skin, and meadowfoam seed oil and squalane form a light, soft layer so it doesn’t evaporate straight away. That’s why skin feels comfortable for longer than after a watery toner.
White tremella (snow mushroom) is a polysaccharide-rich extract that holds a lot of water, which is why it’s often compared to hyaluronic acid. Ceramide NP supports the barrier, and acetyl tetrapeptide-11 is a peptide marketed for firmness, though in a toner it’s a minor extra.
How to use it
Laneige gives two methods. For everyday use, after cleansing, pour some into your hands and pat it into the skin, morning and night. Two or three layers work well on dry days. As a “skin pack”, soak cotton pads and leave them on for a few minutes.
Follow with serum and moisturiser, or let it be your moisturiser if your skin is oily and the weather is humid.
How it compares
Celimax Dual Barrier Creamy Toner is a cheaper creamy toner with a similar idea. I’m From Rice Toner is milky too, with a rice-focused brightening angle. Anua Heartleaf 77% Toner is the pick if you want a watery, calming toner instead.
Is it worth buying in Seoul?
Yes. Olive Young sells the same 170ml bottle as Amazon US and UK, and the Seoul sale price is about 40% lower than both. Olive Young often adds a 50ml bonus too, which our price box doesn’t count.
One bottle clears the ₩15,000 tax refund minimum. At 170ml, pack it in your checked bag.
FAQ
Can it replace my moisturiser?
For oily or combination skin in warm weather, often yes, especially with two or three layers. Dry skin will still want a cream on top.
Is it fragrance-free?
No fragrance or essential oils are listed on the current Korean label.
How do I use it as a mask?
Laneige suggests soaking cotton pads and leaving them on the skin for a few minutes as a hydrating skin pack.
Does it suit sensitive skin?
It has a short-ish, gentle formula with no acids, so most sensitive skin tolerates it well. Patch-test first if you're reactive.
